Janmasūtram (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our application.
Information We Collect
- Account information: Your name and phone number, collected when you sign in with Google or when an astrologer adds you as a client
- Birth details: Date, time, and place of birth, used solely to generate astrological charts (kundali)
- Google account information: Email address (used only as an internal account identifier), name, and profile picture, obtained via Google Sign-In
- Usage data: Basic app interaction data necessary for the app to function (e.g., which charts you’ve viewed)
How We Use Your Information
- To generate and display astrological charts
- To enable astrologers and their clients to share kundali information with explicit consent
- To maintain your account and login session
- We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes
Data Storage
Your information is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (Supabase, hosted in India) with industry-standard security practices, including row-level access controls that restrict data visibility based on sharing permissions you control.
Data Sharing
- Astrologers can only access client kundali data that has been explicitly shared with them, or that they created on behalf of a client
- Phone number visibility is controlled by each astrologer’s own privacy settings
- We do not share your data with any third party outside the app’s core functionality
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at janamsutram@gmail.com.
Children’s Data
Birth charts may be created for individuals of any age, including minors, when added by a parent, guardian, or astrologer acting on their behalf. We do not knowingly collect data directly from minors through app account creation, since Google Sign-In requires an account holder.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
